4th Of July Tablescape
| Dollar Tree
Creating a tablescape does not take a lot of money or effort unless you are going for that look. I love to create my tablescapes from items from the Dollar Tree. I also like to challenge myself if I can only use ALL items from the dollar store. So if you up to the challenge join me with the next holiday or celebration and head to Dollar Tree to create a show-stopping look. This celebration that I am sharing with you can be used for Labor Day, 4th of July or Memorial Day get-togethers or celebrations.
I like to start by pulling out the items that I have already on hand. Then I may pick up a few items that grab my attention that I would like to incorporate within the tablescape.
Starting with the foundation of the table I used a Dollar Tree tablecloth. I try not to use plastic tablecloths too much anymore but I liked the pattern for this one. I tend to like to break the rules with what others think is appropriate. So I do what I like to do at the time….it is up to you to do what you like as well. But my go-to is cloth tablecloths.
Moving on I used the placemats as a runner and just lined them up in the center of the table. Never be afraid to use what you have differently to create a totally different look. This helps save money, shows the versatility of your products and showcases your creativity.
I like to use some sort of filler throughout my table. In this case, I use some (2 packages) string decorative garland to place on top of the runner.
Next, I always use the main centerpiece or multiple main centerpieces when creating a tablescape. I used three large mason jars and filled them with water. Using an odd number of decorative items brings interest and appeal to the eyes, by having an even number of items your eye is looking back and forth between the items. I then added 3 drops of food coloring to the water. Adding more drops to give it a deeper or richer look, you can add more as needed depending on your preference. Once I added the food coloring to the water and then placed some flowers in each one of them. Choosing opposite colors (with the flowers and water) to place them in, cutting the ends down so that you will not see them in the jars and rubber banding them together at the ends.

In addition, I added the hats at every other space and the color metal tins in the spaces left over. In those tins, I added some fairy lights also purchased for the Dollar Tree to give it more added interest. You can add some gift bag shredded filler to cover the lights battery packs if you like. It was just my immediate family eating at the table so it really was not a bother.
