5 Ways To Be More
Focused and Productive In A Day
Summer is upon us and I am ready to relax, relate and release! Although I can not forget about the huge tasks that need to be done each day and projects to tackle. Implementing these 5 EASY lifestyle changes to have more productivity has helped me stay more focus and keep on the goals that I set for myself. Here are 5 ways that will help you stay focused and productive throughout your day.
Watching Less TV
The number one thing that has helped me more than I realized was cutting out watching so much television. I know! I know!! Your thinking, Girl you must be crazy!!
I thought I was too when we decided to cut the cable cord a few months ago. I was tired of the high cable bill! Which is an entirely whole another blog post. But when we did that I only watched TV for the sole purpose to watch one of my favorite shows or series.
Now I do not spend time watching TV simply because it was on and it was a distraction from whatever task I may have been working on. By watching the TV while working just made the task take longer to complete.
I loved my shows!! Housewives of Atlanta, Braxtons’ Family Values, Love and Hip Hop Atlanta and more! I really thought I was going to hyperventilate when we first did and I really had FOMO (fear of missing out). Seriously!!
As my schedule grew more and more of things to do it just got easier to weed out watching television!
Now when I turn it on for myself, I have to watch on purpose or be ready to just relax my mind from everything else. I NEVER THOUGHT I WOULD SAY THAT!! It certainly is true when you do something for so long it starts to become a habit.
Make A To-do List or Jot It In Your Planner
I know you heard this million times when you write it down you tend to remember it and complete the task off your list. Yes, Write it down!! Somewhere you will remember, go back and see it!! I am a planner girl and even sometimes I will have all intentions to write it down and never go back and jot it down in my planner or list pad.
I have to physically make myself stop what I am doing and write it down, like RIGHT NOW!!
For one, I will forget and possibly remember later and it could be too late.
And for two, writing it down helps me mentally remember that I have something to do or complete.
Thirdly, just seeing a list of things on my To Do list that I can go back and check off makes me feel accomplished. Also realizing that I got a lot more done that day than I simply give myself credit for when looking back over the list.
My New Found Love For Listening To Podcast
I heard someone in the planner community mentioned that she loved to listen to Podcast. She just created this amazing planner and I was just amazed just by her uplifting presentation alone. You could certainly tell that she constantly feeding her soul with positivity, motivation, and inspiration. Shortly after that, a few mentors with blogging that I follow started having regular Podcast that I enjoyed listening too. I started listening to them more and more!
Joyce Meyers was one of the very first podcast I listened on iTunes and I missed listening to her and searched for others to listen to as well.
They are great to listen to when doing something else like cleaning, working on the computer that does not require quietness or working on a project.
It is important to always be watchful of what you are feeding your spirit and soul on a daily basis. I noticed how my moods shifted from listening uplifting and motivational podcast versus watching certain shows that just were not feeding my spirit. You always want to uplift your spirit and improve as an individual and listening to more positivity on the regular shifted my thought process for the better.
Watching YouTube or Pinning on Pinterest
One thing that really helped me in the past was watching informative and inspirational videos on YouTube and pinning on Pinterest. Recently I have not been able to watch as much but this really helped with tackling an organization project, learning a new recipe or just getting up to clean a room in my house. Surprisingly, those clean with me videos really get me in the mood to clean. The wonderfully made and mouth-watering dishes on Pinterest really helps to get creative in the kitchen and even try more healthy recipes.
Nothing like a good ole inspiration to see if maybe I can try it too!
Exercising
Corporating daily exercise in your routine actually helps with a routine. It gives you more energy to carry out those daily tasks and tackle that massive to-do list. Helps with clarity which helps you carry out your daily task. In addition, exercising is motivation to conquer your task and goals. Something about working out improves your self-esteem and confidence to know that you can put anything you set your mind too. I personally benefited from the instant mood-boosting from exercising.
It is important to take time for yourself and make sure that you at least take a 30-40 minute walk 4-5 times a week. It truly helps with the heart, mind, and soul.
Whether it is cutting out more television, making a daily to-do list and keep track of what you completed in a planner, or finding someone on a podcast/platform that you enjoy listening to. Always keep your plans, goals, and dreams in mind!
In order to reach those goals or complete those task, you have to give up or try something different in order to reach the finish line.
