Easter Dollar Tree Bunny Tablescape
The very first Easter Tablescape that I created for the family was bright, cheery and whimsical. I wanted it to be fun and exciting for the kiddos but I also took into account that I wanted to create the tablescape on a small budget. So Dollar Tree was my next stop to find some items for our Easter table decor.
The inspiration for this tablescape was the bunny chair covers and the bright Easter eggs that Dollar Tree had. Once you have your inspiration, let that flow throughout your table or decor. When the inspiration is shown throughout the table and decor it should flow with a unified theme.
With this Easter tablescape, I went with bunnies, Easter eggs, bright flowers and little buckets the resemble Easter baskets. All of the items carrying out a central theme through the table. Making it appealing to the eye and have your guests looking for what is next to find throughout their eating experience at the table.
Foundation Of The Table
To begin with, let us start with the covering of the table. I choose not to use a table cloth and just use the natural table itself. As I recall am not sure why because this was so long ago. LOL! But the natural wood of the table plays well with the brown rustic urn that was used as the centerpiece.
Also adding a runner down the center of the table as visual appeal and layers to the table. Thinking outside of the box with this one, deco mesh was simply used to as a runner. I had a piece of deco mesh in my craft collection that was a perfect match of lavender (from Carolina Pottery).
Used two rolls of Easter theme ribbon from the Dollar Tree to outline the edges of the deco mesh to finish off the edge of it. Worked out great!
Embellishing The Table
Adding little touches throughout the table makes the table feel fun and super special to just be seated at the table. Adding that super special touch I like to use small items (be sure to keep out of reach of small children) like faux rhinestones, small acorns, leaves, craft embellishments, flowers and etc. and scatter them throughout the table. The list is endless!
For this table, Dollar Tree had faux rhinestone flowers that were perfect to had a little sparkle to the table. The rhinestones flowers play off the flowers in the centerpiece and also had a hint of Spring to the table.
The last-minute idea was adding the bunny feet to the Easter tablescape. The little paper bunny feet (from Dollar Tree) placed down the center of the table as if the Easter bunny walked across the table. How Cute!!
Centerpiece
With Centerpieces, the rule of thumb is to have it down low enough for your guests to talk and engage with one another. Obviously, I broke all the rules with the centerpiece. I tend to do that!! I like to break the rules!! Although when I do, I find a way around it. My way around this rule is to just simply move it out the way when its time to eat. Simple as that.
With this centerpiece, I purchased Spring florals from Michaels. Michaels stores have great sales on their florals seasonally. Just watch out for the weekly sales to get the best prices. I like to take advantage of the 60 percent off sale with floral to get the best deal. The best flowers normally go first, just so you guys know. wink, wink
Adding a few branches from the back yard and spray painted them white, hanging the little Easter Eggs (from Dollar Tree) on the branches. The branches, urn and the natural table without a table cloth all tie together with an earthy theme.
Place Setting
With the place setting a felt egg decor was used as a placement. A silver charger from Michaels, the Dollar Tree also sells these chargers.
White dishes are a must in any entertainment and tablescape stash and the Dollar Tree makes it easy and affordable to collect those dishes.
I needed napkins to add to the Easter table, so I went online and found the perfect napkins at Pier One. They matched so perfectly!
The little tin buckets placed in the center of the place setting with a little bit of Easter grass and few glittered eggs resembling a tiny little basket. Adorable!
Similar glassware can be found at Walmart. Although Dollar Tree has an array of choices to pick from. I did not place the silverware on the table for these pictures or the video (found below to view, FYI this was at the beginning of my YouTube filming days) but don’t forget yours. LOL!
Chairs
The chair covers started the inspiration of the entire Easter tablescape. How adorable for $1.00 at the Dollar Tree. Adding my own special touch I wanted to create bunny tails to back of the chair covers. So I searched YouTube and Pinterest for a tutorial of how to create the bunny tail.
Super easy to do and create! I just used hot glue and velcro to attach them to the back of the cover.
