4 Ways To Help Prepare For An Event
We all had those thoughts about what I am going to do for such and such’s birthday, party or event? You want it to be amazing but you simply do not know where to start. Let me share with you 4 ways to help prepare for an event, party or holiday celebration for your family or friends. These 4 preparation tips will leave you without the worry and hassle throughout your planning process.
Figure Out a Budget
How much am going to spend on decorations, venue, food, vendors (such as a DJ, photo booth or etc.)? List everything out in a notebook, Excel, event planner or just a plain sheet of paper. Writing down your budgeted cost for each category; as you are spending money in a certain category make sure to write it down. This way all of the budgets are not spent in one particular area. For example, you do not want to overspend on decorations and there is not any money left for the food budget. LOL! That would be terrible!
Look for Inspiration
I enjoy going on Pinterest! I may not be able to replicate the exact same thing or DIY but it gives me a great starting point. Also, my fav bloggers websites are also helpful! They may have free printables for parties which gives me a starting point on where to begin. And who does not like FREE! Lillianhopedesigns.com is one of my favorite party designers that has awesome free printables on her blog. I have used her printables for a Thanksgiving
Also, just a simple Google search and looking on Instagram gets my wheels turning!
Do not forget about Esty! When you are looking for that special customization for your event they are certainly the place.
YouTube has many talented people with party expertise and creativity. New content is added all the time so it is certainly a starting point to help prepare you for your next event.
Shop your Home
Regardless of your budget always shop your home, first! Depending on my budget and because it is one of my favorite things to do is to look around my home and see what I have to start to work with. Start shopping your home for items you may have picked up a while ago and forgotten about. I am always surprised at something I may have totally forgotten about. Shop your home for even home decor that could be placed as the main centerpiece for your event at the head table, for example.
I have done this many of times with different items. When you are no longer loving the item it can simply be refreshed with some spray paint or paint. I used a centerpiece on my mantle and dining room table for the main centerpiece for a wedding that I decorated for. I spray painted it gold from brown and now it is like new. It currently sits on top of my TV stand in my craft room. Talking about getting my money worth!
Whether it is a birthday party, bridal shower or wedding you may seem surprised by what you have that you can use in different ways to help prepare for an event. With just a little painting or spray paint that can totally transform the look of your item and bring it back to life or help emphasize the look of your event and give it that total WOW factor!
Shopping For Decor
Once the shopping for decor begins I really like to use Amazon. I like the fact I can do one quick search and immediately I can find what I need and related items that will I often found useful to enhance the celebration I may be having.
I also like their 2-Day free shipping for Amazon Prime members. With those last-minute purchases, this comes in handy. I do not have to worry about shipping cost over and over again, which saves me a lot of money and time from running store to store looking for an item.
Michaels, AC Moore, Hobby Lobby and Joanns are great craft stores. They are always having a sale or coupons for you to use daily or weekly. If you are having a wedding and are in need of supplies make sure to plan ahead. With planning ahead you are able to take advantage of the sales and/or use a coupon to get that much-wanted item. So check that sales paper weekly and sign up for their member rewards programs to recieve those awesome email specials.
Having a party rather it is big or small can be overwhelming and all the little details can add up to big major tasks. Just getting started with these simple steps to ways to help prepare for an event. Your celebration will be off to a great start without the stress, panic, and headache.
