When I started my YouTube channel, in 2014. My 2nd video was our Thanksgiving Tablescape. YouTube was my outlet to decorate and I enjoyed decorating for the seasons and birthdays. I became passionate about celebrating birthdays in 2006 when my middle son JJ turned 2 years old.
Shortly before his birthday my husband in I had our 1st miscarriage. As a teen and young mom, I took pregnancy for granted! But I realized that nothing is promised in our lives and it shouldn’t be taken for granted.
So making sure that birthdays are celebrated is important to me. I was always passionate about DIYs, decorating, family, and spending time together since I was a little girl. I was the one that would cry or get sad when a family gathering was over. I love DIYs and I would carry around this book that I still have today… and I remember never having the nerve to attempt anything in the book. And just wished I had the nerve!
I remember listening to my Grandparents talk about family and who was related to who. My Grandparents hosted family meals, reunions, and get-togethers with friends and family. Little did I know they were planting seeds. I enjoy feeding my family just as they did.
So I started combining my love for DIYs, decorating, family and togetherness and started creating tablescapes to get them to linger around the table a little longer. Fast forward to 2020 I told my family my vision and something that I wanted to do, that I knew God had given me. It seemed overwhelming! We were not going outside and gathering together.
I found everything else to do instead of what God told me to do. I felt like what was the point if we were not gathering. But I knew it was great for the time we were living in. I felt God nudging me, every single day. I had every excuse in the book! But one thing for sure was that people were going to gather and celebrate. I gave myself another excuse…did they have parties in the Bible? I began to look it up. But received confirmation about it in a message from Joyce Meyer. How Jesus add many celebrations/parties in the Bible. So I continued to work!
