Christmas Santa Workshop
Tablescape & Inspiration
I always wanted to create this whimsical atmosphere for my children during the holidays. Especially during Christmas time! During the holidays I would make this really large and nice dinner for my family for the holidays. My desire was to have this wonderful atmosphere while we were eating as well. I also wanted the kids to feel comfortable seating at the table and not afraid to touch anything. So this year I wanted a Santa and Elf Workshop theme for the tablescape this particular year.
COLORS
RED, GREEN, WHITE & GOLD
This particular year I went with colors that I already had on hand which made it easier to create a Santa/Elf theme. When you want to save your money starting with you have already is a huge advantage. Making it seem like you have a larger collection of decor then you may actually have.

PRINTABLES
I received my inspiration from these printables that I found from the Lillian Hope Designs website. The printables I found from her site set the tone for the entire theme for the tablescape and dining room.
Unique Ideas
Incorporating different ideas for your holiday to do with your family is always fun to do. And it may start a yearly tradition that you all can do together during the holiday season.
Some ideas:
- Games
- Coloring pages for kiddos or coloring contests for the entire family
- Presents to Jesus – Each person writes down 3 presents they would give Jesus for his birthday.
- Dirty Santa
Shop Your Home
Before you grab your keys to head out to the store be sure to shop your home. Look around for items that may work in your home for your current needs with your decor for a particular season or holiday.
Some of the items that I shopped my home to use for this tablescape and holiday season were:
- The glass candle holder
- Topiary
- Serving cookware
- Plates Used in a centerpiece
CUSTOM DIYs
I love to create DIY projects, especially during the holidays. Asking your children to pitch in and help create something custom that everyone would be proud to share with family and their guests. Also making creating them together builds family bonds and memories for a lifetime. I still enjoy making snowflakes and Christmas Cards with my Grandmother.
Customer DIYs are unique and can not be found in any other place out there because you made it.
This particular year I had several:
- The bows on the presents
- Deco Mesh swag wreath
- Wreaths
- Bows and swag on the staircase
THING OUTSIDE THE BOX
One thing that will set you apart is thinking outside the box and not afraid to try something new and different.
Placing the Santa hats on the formal chairs was something out of the box. Hanging the garland and ornaments was also something different that I certainly had to try once I saw it on Pinterest.

BUILD YOUR COLLECTION
When you first start entertaining or decorating for the holidays build your collection over time. Do not feel like you have to everything all at one time. Use what you have and purchase a little over time. Trust me it grows very, very quickly and before you know it, you may run out of space or find different ways to store items. So do not feel like you have to purchase everything all at one time.
One of my favorite serving ware pieces to use during the holidays is my (CLICK HERE) buffet warmer. It keeps the food warm while family and friends enjoy each other’s company and opening gifts throughout the Christmas morning, day or evening parties.
Whatever your Christmas theme, color scheme or decorations are styled and designed for that year. Just have fun with it! It does not have to be traditional or just like everyone else’s decorations make it your own. The way that you like and you can not go wrong.
