CRAFT ROOM ORGANIZATION IDEAS
I have been on this journey to transform our extra bonus room that was meant to be a movie media room into my ultimate Mom Cave aka Craft room. In order to tackle such a large task, I broke down the room into manageable stations. I have already shared my planner corner and scrapbook area, just click the links to each area to read more about them (video is also within the post).
STORAGE
I wanted to have an area just for my DIYs. A place to store, create and put them away when I was done with crafting for the day. I really liked the look of having cabinets in my craft room but I was not ready to invest a lot of money into an entire wall of them. So I thought two would do just fine in the meantime. I searched online for cabinets and I knew that ClosetMaid had some that would fit my space perfectly.
I purchased two of the freestanding cabinets From Home Depot and a melamine workbench top also from Home Depot.
Above the cabinets on the wall, I wanted the Recollections embellishment tower (from Michaels, they no longer sell it online) to hold some of the ribbon, chunky glitter, and embellishments. This unit was the perfect addition to this corner above the cabinets.
Many of the jars were collected over the years from Dollar Tree (on the first, second and third row). Spice jars from an old spice jar holder work perfectly to hold glitter (4th row).
Inside of the cabinets are bins from Dollar Tree to organize extra crafting supplies: mesh, floral wire, spray paint, chalk paint and etc.
The most exciting part other than the embellishment tower was organizing the drawers. Over time I collected little drawer organizers that fit perfectly in the drawers.
WALL DECOR
I have a love for motivational and beautiful wall decoration. And it surely shows on my walls in my craft room/mom cave. Especially in this area of my craft corner.
I made a collage of all of my favorite art pieces on this wall. This way I was able to incorporate most of the pictures that I picked up over time.
TIPS
The 1st tip I would give you when decorating a craft room or when organizing it. TAKE YOUR TIME!!
2nd tip picks up your items slowly, over time. This allows you to find and pick what you truly love and like to have in your craft room.
Over time I came across great finds for the crafting corner. I actually found them months and even years apart. The pegboard came from the habitat of humanity, gold metal grid board with attachments was purchase during Hobby Lobby’s big clearance sale. Months down the road I came across the dry erase and calendar, cork board from Aldi.
Creating a craft space of your own does not have to be expensive. With a little planning and outlining of what you would like in your space.

Hello Suzanne, The wall embellishment holder was from Michaels about two years ago. It was only available online but unfortunately, it is not available any more on their website. I wish they would bring it back because I did want another one. Thanks for stopping by!
