Decoration Ideas For Easter Table Setting
This is far my favorite table setting for Easter decor. The color palette of adding the blue with all of the other pastel colors to the Easter decor made the Spring colors simply pop. With this Easter Tablescape, incorporating Dollar Store items with discounted store items (such as Marshalls or TJMaxx) give it an elegant, classic and a touch of whimsical that I was going for. Shopping my own home for items to include made this table setting even more exciting to create. Let me share with you how I did just that without breaking the back.
Inspiration
Starting with inspiration is always great to get the ball rolling and creativity flowing. My inspiration usually starts with items from the Dollar Tree or the Target Bulls Eye Playground. I was totally feeling the vibe of the colors of the new season. So I will worked off of that. With this year Easter tablescape decorations, the Hello Easter sign was the color scheme for the table.
With the Easter sign, I pulled out all of the colors to use to decorate the table. This was my starting point for which color of flowers to use with the Easter tablescape.
Michaels is my go to with shopping for flowers. Taking advantage of their sales, especially the 60 percent off discount is excellent for saving those coins on their prettiest flowers.
Foundation
Using a tablecloth is optional depending on the look that you are going for with your tablescape. I choose to use an ivory table cloth from Walmart. Make sure that your tablecloth is not too short and has enough overhang from the table. My tablecloth is almost too short but I wanted to work with what I had and we were only having family over. If I had guest over, I would have purchased a longer one.
Adding layers to the table to give your table that visual upscale look. You can do this by adding placemats and a runner to your table. Instead of a runner, I used some leftover glitter/burlap ribbon from Walmart.
Centerpieces
Originally I wanted to glue the two wooden signs together and add them within the tin bucket container. It did not quite work out the way I wanted it to so instead I placed the sign on either side of the tin bucket container.
Inside of the tin bucket container, the floral foam was added to help give the flowers some form to help design and add height so that the candlesticks will be elevated. Placing two candlesticks inside the arrangement (using the floral foam to place them on). Adding two more of the candlesticks holder and taper candles (from Dollar Tree) on both sides of the arrangement.
To balance the table out and give it a little more fullness by using shorter or wider decorative votive candle holders at the ends of the table (towards the heads of the tables). Although for this Easter Tablescape I used glass candle holders within the centerpiece. So I wanted to go with the little planters from the Target BullsEye Playground. Adding flowers to them from the Dollar Tree.
Placesetting
The tablescape had a rustic chic vibe, so I wanted to use burlap placemats (from Target Bullseye Playground), napkins rings and these little felt crafting carrot pockets. The carrot pockets were supposedly for fun kids crafts. But I knew I could use them to hold some of the cutlery. Giving the Easter Tablescape a more whimsical look and feel for my children.
I always want my children and guest to feel comfortable sitting at the table. Don’t want them to feel as though they are not allowed to touch anything or everything seems too delicate to touch, making their eating experience uncomfortable.
I always have so much fun decorating with budget home decor from Dollar Tree and Target Bulls Eye Playground. Although I do enjoy shopping at discount stores such as Marshalls, HomeGoods, TJ Maxx, Gabes, and Ross to find those home decor pieces that will give my table a polished look. I have a blog post here about creating a (click here read more) High-End Dollar Tree Look On A Budget.
Marshalls had the perfect plates to go with this year’s Easter table setting color scheme. I purchased sets of the saucer plates ($4.99) and only two of the large plates ($2.99) to place at the ends of the table. In order to cut the cost, I only purchased just two decorative plates. Basic white plates (from Dollar Tree) were used for the other four place settings. At these four place settings, light pastel blue chargers, purchased from Michaels on sale were incorporated. Silver chargers from my entertainment stash also were added to give the table a classic look.
As a result, starting with inspiration, creating a foundation, decorating with a centerpiece and customizing your place setting will give you a beautiful and elegant tablescape every single time. Guaranteed!
