I enjoyed decorating for the holiday seasons and especially the seasonal tablescapes for my family and friends.
I wanted my family to enjoy the dinner far beyond the meal prepared itself, so I took the love of decorating for the seasons and my family and started creating tablescapes.
Of course, I was on a tight budget and I had no clue where to start. But I knew that some of my favorite Dollar Stores had affordable and cute decor for the seasons. The stores also had dinnerware items that looked like it was well over $1.00.
I want to share with you how you can pull any table together whether it is seasonal or every day from the Dollar Stores. And have everyone Wowed with amazement!
Create a Budget
Make sure to create a budget for your tablescape. This is important! Regardless if you are shopping at the local dollar store, having a budget is important because all of those dollars had up. Before you know it, you have spent several hundreds of dollars at dollar stores.
Shop Early
Be sure to shop early!! This is also important if you want to find really cute and good items. For example, Fall decor items may come out as mid Summer or right after school goes back in. I have seen some items come out as soon as the 4th of July in my local Dollar Tree.
Be sure to check back often and ask the store manager or clerks when they will receive a new truck or will put items out to purchase.
Also, watch YouTube for videos and check Instagram on new seasonal that may come to a local store near you. This is helpful to know what are some of the best things that are new in stores (and save on gas). Not to mention if you should pass all together at most or some stores and save your dollars.

Stores To Shop
The local Dollar Stores in my area that I love to shop for seasonal decorations are:
- Dollar Tree
- Dollar General
- Target’s Bullseye Playground
- Family Dollar
- Walmart – They have affordable season decorations, it may not be just $1.00 but it is really reasonable
Think outside of the Box
When shopping at the Dollar Store think outside the box. Think about the items that are not necessarily seasonal decor. Think about picture frames, boxes, flowers, bows or etc. that can be used to create a custom DIY for your seasonal tablescape.
Reuse Items
When you are purchasing your items at your local Dollar Store, look for those items that can be used for many different seasons over the years. Look for neutrals or classic colors that will go with other tablescapes in the future.
For example: Look for pumpkins that are cream, gold, white, silver or etc. that can be used for years and years to come.
Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:6-7 NIV

Oh my gosh I love all these tips and ideas. I need to hop over to the Dollar Tree and check out what they’ve got. I get stuck in Hobby Lobby and even at 50% off end up spending too much! First things I’m getting are some risers…haven’t really done those before. Thanks for all this good stuff!
Hope says
