FOOTBALL BIRTHDAY PARTY IDEAS
WITH TACO BAR
When my oldest son turned sixteen, he had a request to just have a small celebration for his birthday at home and have tacos. That is all I needed to hear to get the birthday celebration underway and create a football party with his favorite food displaying a taco bar. For his football-themed party, we did not spend a lot of money.
I started to brainstorm some things that I could use around the home or purchase from our local Dollar Tree store for football party ideas and decorations.
Let us break down how you can create this look for your next Football themed party celebration.
MATERIALS:
Backdrop and Surface: Both are just foam poster board from Dollar Tree. I covered the back portion with wrapping paper and the bottom portion with the kraft wrapping paper from Dollar Tree. The black and white stripes resembled a referee shirt, a great touch to tie in more of a realistic football theme.
Dollar Tree has a white poster board with several other colors to choose from. On the kraft paper, I created lines (stitching) of the football with the poster board and used hot glue to attach it to the kraft paper.
Google Search: With most of the football theme printables such as the banner, water bottle covers, straw flags, cupcake covers, and menu food tents I found on other blogger’s websites for free. This SAVED ME MONEY and I am here for it! Their links are down below.

Also, I found the Bengals mascot and blew the image up in MS Word and printed it out. (I would only use Googled images for personal uses only not commercial.)
FOOD:
Tacos were the theme of the party. Taco Bars are super easy to create and serve buffet style for your guest. It leaves for easy clean up for kid’s football party or Superbowl party afterward.
Seasoned Shredded Chicken
Ground Beef
Mexican Rice
Salsa
Queso
Nacho Cheese
Shredded Cheese
Shredded Lettuce
Jalapeno
Sour Cream
Tortilla Chips
Soft Tortillas
Hard Shells Tacos
Dessert:
Homemade Cupcakes….and my icing job totally needs work. But the point is made. LOL!!

SERVING DISHES:
Football shaped bowls are from the Dollar Tree. They normally have them around early Fall to Christmas, so be sure to keep a lookout and save them for your Super Bowl parties or themed parties throughout the year. They come in handy for small or large get-togethers.
Dollar Tree also has so many different glassware, mugs, and cups to choose from. These clear glass mugs can be also found at Dollar Tree.
I have also found other football party decorations at Walmart and Dollar General Stores, so be sure to check those stores out to help decorate your display of party food.
Don’t forget to pick up any of your paper party products’ needs in which color that best suits your theme party (CLICK HERE).
Aldi is my favorite place to purchase most of my serving ware and entertaining pieces. The tortilla warmer, white three bowls tray set, and warming server were my go to’s for this party.
The cake stand was a DIY project: Using foam board cut down to squares. Then covering the foam board with adhesive contact paper. To give the levels some height, I found some random clear acrylic pieces around 3-4inches wide (to give enough space for the cupcakes not to touch the other foam board.
Used a hot glue gun to attach the acrylic pieces to the board squares. To finish it off I used orange ribbon from the Dollar Tree to cover the edges of the foam board of the cake stand.
In no time you can create a football theme party for a birthday, Superbowl, or just a Sunday Funday game time ritual with friends and family that you will enjoy with breaking the budget. Taco bar parties are an easy, quick Superbowl food or gameday feast to please any crowd. It also makes it convenient for all the guests to pitch in and add to the party food list. Leaving less stress on the pocketbook and more attention to the celebration.
