How To Create An Amazing Fall & Thanksgiving Dollar Store Tablescape Ideas
Some seasons in life you may need some sort of inspiration to just simply get you in the mood for the upcoming season. You may not be quite ready for change or you are just overwhelmed with day to day tasks. Well, this year particular year when I created this tablescape for Fall and Thanksgiving in our home I needed inspiration.
My inspiration for this year was to use my favorite color which is purple…well pink is my favorite also. I knew purple would be different but also very interesting. Leaving a lasting for my family and guest.
For the Fall and Thanksgiving tablescape this particular year I wanted the colors Purple, Gold, Yellow and Orange. To all be incorporated into my tablescape for the holiday. These colors were bold and screamed Fall but give the tablescape a glam and upscale look.
Let me break it down on how I created this look on a budget from items from Dollar Tree, Target’s Bullseye Playground, Thrift Store Finds and catching Michaels great seasonal discounts.

CENTERPIECE:
I imagined a cascading floral centerpiece for the table. At Micheals, I found these beautiful purple flowers…I can not recall the name of them but I knew they would look great flowing over the centerpiece for the table.
I was in need of a vase or container to place my flowers in so I headed to my local thrift store to find something would be a great fit for the Fall tablescape. Found this ivory container that was perfect! And it was shaped just like a pumpkin! AMAZING!
Adding some floral foam to the center of the pumpkin-shaped container, then added some beautiful purple flowers. In addition, adding flowers from the old Fall flower arrangement to enhance the new centerpiece.
Completing the centerpiece added a gold pumpkin to the top of the arrangement for all eyes to see.
On each side of the centerpiece creating fullness to the table is something that I simply love to add for my special touch. Votive candles are a great way to bring ambiance and interest to the table.
Adding more interest I enjoy adding some sort of table scatter or garland. I used this small beaded garland that was also found at the thrift store for $3.00.
I use all my finds from the thrift store over and over again!!
PLACE SETTING:
Starting from the bottom I used burlap placemats from Target’s Bullseye Playground. I love these placemats because they are so versatile and can be used for any table decor scheme.
Creating a tablescape with different layers and textures to your table brings interest and beautifies the table.
I was inspired to create these leaf placemats that I saw some similar in PierOne.The placemats were a little more than I wanted to pay for so I created my own.
In the video above I show how I created my own leaf placemats that saved me money.
Next, I found these beautiful purple chargers from Michaels. Every season Micheals always comes out with nice and unique chargers. Check sales regularly if you have your eye on one particular set for your upcoming tablescape decor. If the design is popular it may fly off the shelves. Be sure to check back often.
Dollar Tree is one of my favorite stores to snag affordable dishware for any occasion. I purchased the glassware and white plates all from Dollar Tree. The scalloped plates were a thrift store find from my local Habitat of Humanity.
In Addition, I shared the glitter glassware DIY in the same video above. That added a sparkling touch to water glasses from Dollar Tree. Really easy DIY to do!
When I spotted the purple stemware from Dollar Tree as well, I knew that it had to be added to my Fall tablescape. Be sure to shop at different Dollar Tree stores and also DollarTree.com because they all carry different varieties of items.
The small burlap sacks were purchased from WalMart in their wedding section. They were a great touch to add silverware in them adding jewel piece from Michaels Craft stores.
At each place setting, there is a Fall flower arrangement. At the ends of the table, a ceramic container and gold scalloped was used to hold the arrangement both from Target’s Bullseye Playground. Containers like these can be used for multiple purposes, for example, I am using gold containers for pens and pencils.
Creating a beautiful tablescape does not have to break the bank. Shop around and early and you can create a beautiful table setting on a budget.
