Recently, I discovered these videos on YouTube where ladies were sharing how they organized their handbags/purses. I love a handbag and everything that comes with it! However, I found myself without items that I needed when I left my home that were not in my handbag. As a busy Mom and college student, sometimes I would forget to add something that I ran out of. Or just keep putting off adding that new keychain, Airpod case, iPhone case, slip a power bank, or portable fan into my purse.
So I went all over social media searching for an organization system that would help house everything that I needed to restock my purse or handbag that was right at my fingertips. That way, during my busy season, it did not take a lot of time out of my schedule to grab what was needed to restock or organize my purse.
After searching, I discovered several videos on TikTok with essential items in drawers. I originally thought it was an original idea of mine because the video that I watched on YouTube had their purse essentials in a cart system. Although the cart system is more affordable and easy to put together quickly, I didn’t want to see all of the items out at once. That is why I thought of the drawer system. Although it wasn’t my original idea, I thought it was so inspiring to see all of the different items that the other ladies use in their purse organization towers.
I want to share how I organized and the items that I used to put together my purse tower.
The first thing I wanted was simple drawers to store all of my items. So, I was able to find 5 to 7 white drawers off of Amazon. I ended up using two seven-drawer cabinets to store all of my handbag essentials.

It was a little tricky to assemble, although I found this great video on YouTube that was helpful to put it together. It made putting together the second one a breeze. VIDEO of Winsome Halifax | 5-Drawer Cabinet | Assembly & Review.
I needed to have the things that I normally use regularly organized and ready to grab. Each one of the drawers was categorized based on what items I included in the purse tower. For example, tissues, sanitizers, feminine hygiene products, sunglasses holders, breath mints, etc.
Figure out what items you would like to include in your purse station. Makeup removers (wipes), combs, floss picks, hair ties, mini toothbrushes, etc., may be important for you to add a purse tower to go in your purse. Add things that you know you will use and need for your handbag/purse.
Here is a video that I created of me walking you through my purse essentials tower.
Shopping for your purse essentials is so much fun! So many choices of products, colors, and designs of items to include. I have a video below where I share one of my hauls. Check it out for inspiration on what you would like to include in your collection of handbag essentials.
This drawer contains Lysol, Clorox, Wet Ones, and anti-bacterial hand wipes. In case I or anyone in my family have any spills on our clothes, a Shout wipe and go, Tide wipes, and a Tide pen are must-have essentials. I am always dropping something on my clothes. The Lysol spray to go is awesome for public bathroom stops.
Facial tissue is probably the #1 must-have in a mother’s handbag. I discovered these little packets that expand into a washcloth. How neat!! The soap sheets in these convenient, caring cases are fantastic for those unexpected cleanups.
This drawer stores all of my eyewear essentials: cleaner wipes and spray, repair kit, cases and ear bud cleaning kit, and screen cleaner wipes.
This drawer has medications, first aid mini kits, pill case holders, eye drops, nail kits, OFF wipes, and bug repellent bands.
You may want to add a mini travel lint roller, travel fabric to go Febreze, and mini Downy wrinkle release spray. Very convenient for those all-day trips. Don’t forget the compact mirror, mini WET brushes, foldable brushes with mirrors, and reusable shopping bags. This little pink ball is called a lint ball and is used to pick up all of the small debris that is in your purse.
A portable fan is a must to have during hot summer months when going to an amusement park or attending a large gathering. This was so handy for my mother when she had a hot flash. A charging bank, folding handbag holders, and these selfie lights are perfect to turn into a light to clip on your purse. When I heard about this idea, I thought it was genius. I found the selfie lights from Dollar Tree when they were in stock.
This seven-drawer tower contains chewing gum, breath mints, cough drops, peppermints, hard candy, Scope breath spray, and Listerine strips. A reusable cutlery and straws are so handy when you plan lunch with the girls, have a snack at the shopping center, or in your car during your lunch break.
When you have kids, deodorant and sprays (Dove mini deodorant spray) are a must! Especially when they play sports or stop at the local park for some fun. When I found out about deodorant wipes, I knew I had to add a few to my purse tower; they are very convenient to slip into my purse. Body glide is great for those days with lots of walking.
This drawer is full of my feminine hygiene products, feminine wipes, toilet seat covers, Poo-Pourri, flushable wipes, and a case to hold all of my hygiene products.
You can’t have enough Pocet Pacs (sanitizer) from Bath and Body Works. Hand lotion and lip glosses are in constant rotation. These oil blotters and travel perfume holders are an added luxury. Stock up on these Dove hand lotions from Dollar Tree. They are very moisturizing.
One of the best things about personalizing your handbag is coordinating it with iPod cases and key chains.
I wanted a space for my name-brand/designer wallets, wristlets, pouches, card holders, and coin purses, so I placed them in two of my drawers. This may be a temporary space for it, but for now, they are stored in my seven-drawer cabinet.
This system can be simple or as detailed as you would like it to be. Make it your own! Place items that you or your family would use in our essential purse organization. Some of the packages come in large quantities, so I would advise you to share them with your Mom, daughter, or girlfriend to get them started with some essential purse items. Starting with a rolling cart or basket may be ideal at first.
Get creative and be prepared to go out the door!
