As a first-year interior design student, I was excited to purchase all the supplies we needed to complete projects. If you are like me and love everything school, craft, and stationary related; checking off the interior design essentials list was fun.
This supply list was quite pricey! I would advise you to pace yourself. Purchase the items as you need them if you can.
Nevertheless, remember that these items are an investment in your interior design education and career.
Great quality items do make a difference in the results of the products that you have. For example Markers and colored pencils in the way they blend together. From experience, the higher quality mediums (markers, pens, colored pencils and etc.) work well with blending and mixing together; and are less streaky.

A sketchbook is really important to sketch out images and interior design ideas.
The sketchbook is great to store other project pages like vellum, tracing, and bristol paper back and forth from class to home.

This ruler was a favorite tool that we used quite often in class. My instructor said that we will love it because it did not slide. The last thing you want to happen when you are measuring and working on a project is for your ruler to slide.
Having a shorter ruler was needed to maneuver when working on a project (in small workspaces in class) or transporting back and forth to school.
