Mother’s Day Brunch & Tablescape
This Mother’s Day I wanted to show my love and appreciation to my Mother and Mother-In-Law. Celebrating them with a very special Mother’s Day Brunch.
My favorite thing to do shop from the Dollar Tree for party supplies. Also to create flower arrangements with Dollar Tree flowers.
Inspiration
To start off, the inspiration for the Mother’s Day brunch was to use feminine and bright colors. Items that I already had on hand to give it that personal flair. And DIYs projects throughout the Mother’s Day Brunch to show all of the love that was put into this celebration of the Mothers.
Also, my inspiration for this Mother’s Day theme came from party designer post of Lillian Hope Designs. Her combination of the pinks, oranges, lime green, black and white just screamed Spring Time.
Table
The table linens were from tableclothsfactory.com which I love to order from them because of the great quality of their fabrics. They wash and hold up well.
In the center of the table, I used some clearance (from Michaels $1.50 section) wrapping paper as a runner and used ribbon from the Dollar Tree to trim the edges to give it a finished look.
Used these chevon mirrors from Dollar Tree (had on hand) and thought they are great as an added touch of dimension and flair to the table. One of my personal touches that I enjoy using votive candle holders. Dollar Tree always has different designs and colors which makes it really easy to switch out decor for the seasons and preferences.
With the flower arrangements, adding some the faux diamond stickers (from Dollar Tree) on the flower petals and the bottom of the flower containers (from Dollar Tree).
Tableware
Looking for an array of dishes and glasses for an affordable price. Dollar Tree and the local thrift store has got you covered. This post seems like it is sponsored by Dollar Tree, a girl can only wish. LOL! It is certainly one of my favorite stores. I have a post on How To Create A High-End Dollar Tree Look On A Budget (just click here to read more).
Drink Area
In this area, I placed the extra plates, extra napkins, cutlery and drinks, drink bottles, glass drink dispenser (HSN) and condiments on this foldable/rolling cart (from QVC). It comes in handy for extra space that is needed for hosting.
From Lillian Hope Designs I used some of her printable labels for the bottles, cutlery, and a sign for the drink dispenser.
The pink cloth napkins folded and placed between each dinner plate give this area some interest. Clipping a flower clip (Dollar Tree) to one of the napkins for a sweet Spring look.
Everything else came from the Dollar Tree, including the sparkling cider mini bottles. Adding a bottle wrapper to this give them custom and specialized look, only for the Mommy’s Brunch.
Food Table
For the food table, I planned out what dishes use for which items served. I also wanted to create different heights throughout the food area. To create interest, by using old books (cover them with wrapping paper, tablecloth or fabric), decor pieces, different size dishes (risers that come with the dishes).
The Mother’s Day printables from Lillian Hope Designs, food menu stands were created for each dish. Then placed in the mini frames (Dollar Tree). These mini frames can class up any event or table. If silver is not your thing; they can be easily spray painted to a color of your choice.
BackDrop
The backdrop is not a must to have. When I started decorating for parties I was obsessed with using them. I always gave the feeling of completeness or it brought everything together when I used one.
Making a backdrop is just simply using 4 foam boards (from Dollar Tree). Taping them together with some heavy duty packaging tape. My favorite is the 3MM packaging tape from…you name it! Dollar Tree! LOL! It holds EVERYTHING together.
Covering the board with that clearance find wrapping paper (Micheals $1.50 section) adding a banner from Lillian Hope Designs.
Food
To come up with food ideas I simply asked them what would they like and also what was easy to prepare. Looking back on the day I would simplify the menu to just a few 2-4 items to save on time.
The Menu consisted of Chicken (chicken tenders) and waffles, BBQ meatballs, breakfast casserole, breakfast quesadillas, blueberry muffins, spaghetti salad, and 7 layer salad. Served with coffee, water, orange juice, and sparkling cedar.
Gift Table
Of course, the Mommy’s had to be showered with gifts. I chose to place a little table in the corner so they could see their gifts right away. Something about knowing you’re going to get a sweet little gift bag makes it even more enjoyable.
Before I even say it! You are right! All of the bags and tissue paper from Dollar Tree. Black and white ones are from Micheals clearance (5o cents each). They all matched beautifully!
With a little planning ahead to give yourself some time to shop clearance, find some inspiration and do something for the people you love. To read more about Not All About the Party! Party Overwhelm, that will help you to get started (click here).
Certainly says a lot about what they mean to you each and every day. Memories forever placed in their hearts.
