Scrapbook Room Tips |
Organization and Storage
When I started to take on the huge project of organizing and cleaning our bonus room for my Craftroom/Studio/Office/MomCave I knew it was going to be challenging. But I knew if I broke it down into down into chunks it would be more manageable. If I took the room by sections and not a total huge project I would not be overwhelmed with it and quit before I even got started.
My first area was my planner corner which you can read and watch the video here.
The next area was my scrapbooking area and craft desk that I worked on and I really am enjoying it.
Worksurface
I wanted an area where I could lay out all of my projects on a large work surface, so I purchased a craft table that I have been eyeing for a while from Walmart.com. Although this table has been out of stock for some time, I have been hoping to possibly get another because I love working at this table. I have seen other customers talk about how they purchased two tables for their crafts or sewing projects.
Originally I purchased one table just to see if I really needed two and I think two tables are beneficial depending on what you are using and need them for. Also, my table that I purchase was only available in dark finish so I used chalk paint in the color White by Waverly from WalMart to paint it to my desired color.
This table comes with lots of built-in storage that will have for your growing or current collection of crafts.
Storage Solutions
Behind the craft table, I have a narrow table I have up against the wall. The table used to be black and I also used white chalk paint to it. Under the table, I already had two, three shelf cubed organizers that I stacked on top of one another to help create some sort of order.
In these cubes, I like to use the metals bins that Walmart or Target (has at the One Spot) to help hold the 6×6 paper pads, punches, stamps and die cutting machines.
There is a small narrow space between the table and the storage cubes that I place my cutting mat and project life pocket pages.
On top of the table, I have a two shelf shoe organizer that is great to store a Silhouette, Cricket and/or Laminator. It is also great to store photo boxes for your pictures. These are great to pick up at Michaels when they have them on sale.
I also have a turn around carousel that I purchased from Tuesday Morning that holds the dialed stamps and one large one from Hobby Lobby that I use to store Alphas for scrapbook usage.
In the next area, I used the Recollections storage cubes. I like how the cubes are easy to put together and stackable. Wanted to place the drawers down lower and the scrapbook paper sorters up higher for easy access for making my projects. Also to keep my busy little toddler’s hands from messing with them. LOL!
I also have a rolling 3-tiered cart from Michaels just like the infamous Raskogs from Ikea. They are so versatile! I have one for my planner supplies as well. It makes it easier to keep everything together and roll it to another area or room.
With how I have everything organized, I wanted to make sure that everything was easy to access.
