Of course, as my children grow to become more independent in the kitchen, it certainly frees up a little time for myself. They are able to prepare small meals for themselves with some little supervision. But I always have a few rules in place to keep themselves, everyone else and our home safe. With those rules in place, I want to share The Best 5 Cooking Appliances Every Kitchen Should Have to make breakfast, lunch and occasional dinners a little easier for yourself and the teens.
First of all, let me share some of the RULES for operating these appliances in our home:
- They always have to ask before making anything. This lets me know as far as inventory and to keep an eye out on what they are cooking. Also if I began to smell anything that comes close to burning.
- They can leave it unattended. I have to make sure that they understand not to go back upstairs, go outside or get zoned out on there video games/cell phone.
- I teach them how to properly operate the appliance. Ask questions when in doubt
- How to clean the appliance properly
- Make sure nothing to near the appliance, where it can get too hot and melt or catch fire.
- We have to do a trial run first before making anything on there own.
- Have to be at least 16-17 to operate a cooking appliance when the parents are not home.
- What to do in case of a fire
I know that may seem a lot but really it not after reminders and having them prepare there own food quite often in the appliance.

The Air Fryer is the best thing EVER!! It gives your foods the crispy texture just like it was fried. Although it was fired with Air. With an air fryer, you or your children can make fresh or frozen foods such as fish, chicken, french fries, pizza, and even toasts bread. This is far one of my favorite kitchen devices to use EVER! It makes it easy to prepare and within minutes.

Toaster Oven is great in our home for bagels, toast, chicken nuggets (place them in the air fryer too), waffles, french toast sticks and more. As you can see the pattern of this toaster oven fav is making breakfast. Making it quick, fast and out the door on time.
When the George Foreman grill came out it was the best thing ever! You could place this small or large grooved griddle on the counter and check periodically the cooking progress of your food. These grills are great for cooking chicken, hamburgers, turkey burgers, steak, hot dogs, sausages, vegetables, black bean burgers. With this grill, it almost tonight to burn anything because of it hard to forget about from all of the sizzling coming from it. LOL! It is the best for healthy eating for you and the entire family (and Air Fryer too).
The Corsori is wonderful for so many different cooking functions it will simply blow you away. If you’re familiar with Instant Pot it is the same thing. In the Corsori you can boil eggs, cooks rice, saute meats, slow cook soups, pressure cook foods and more. Just follow the simple directions and it does the cooking for your within minutes in one appliance. Saving time and space! Great for college students or young adult out on there own for the first time.
Having a waffle maker or griddle for making pancakes or etc. is great for preparing the most important meal of the day, breakfast. Preparing breakfast is the easiest meal to make or to teach a young chef how to cook. With that being said having breakfast for lunch or dinner is always a fun and great idea! They are both easy to operate. Waffle and Pancake mix are quite easy to whip together and following the directions is a breeze.
In result, having these 5 cooking appliances will help free up your time and teach your children more independence in the kitchen and in life.
