Top Best YouTuber Tips
I have been wanting to share Top Best YouTuber Tips for quite some time now and I am excited to finally do that today. So we are going to jump right on in so that you can get started today!
Find Your Passion
The number one YouTube Tips is to find what you are passionate and have a strong interest in and that is what you should film about. When you speak about it the passion should overflow in your speech and presentation that your audience becomes excited. They can definitely tell that you love and are passionate about what you are sharing with them.
Lighting
Lighting is key! With great lighting it makes a video look so much better and more appealing. Lighting is something you should not take for granted or lightly (LOL!). I have watched some videos with terrible lighting only because they may be one of my favorite channels or I really wanted to know the information that they were sharing.
Otherwise…I hate to say it but I wanted to click off.
It is something about the great lighting that wakes you up and makes everything more interesting. Giving it that WOW factor! Don’t forget your pictures as well. Make sure you edit them.
Create Great thumbnails
Great thumbnails are important, they are that deciding factor if someone is willing to take the time out to watch or even click on your video. There are thousands of videos and channels on YouTube so it is important to have thumbnails that pop and grabs the watchers attention.
I love to use Canva.com to create my thumbnails. I always edit the picture first through PicMonkey if it not already edited through Instagram (when I posted it earlier) or through my iPhone picture editor (not my favorite way to edit on my phone).
Always brighten the picture. I like to brighten the picture take out the shadows then add some contrast and saturation. My favorite combos! The contrast and saturation give it a pop.
I also do this in my YouTube video on the YouTube editor screen after the video has been uploaded and processed. I do not do this all the time. Only when I see that the video is little dark for me. It does take some time for the YouTube to correct the new version of it. I usually wait until it done and then make the video Live. Be careful not to make it too bight, I normally go up to 1+ and no more (I hope this makes sense).
The Best $5.00 Spent
I have used Fiverr for quite many things and I have enjoyed using their services for the reasonable price. Most services start at $5.00. They have many talented designers that will create logos, banners, Intros and Outros and more on their website.
It is important to look at the reviews and make sure to ask questions first. Because if you see a sample of their work and it does not say or you do not ask if something can be changed to a different color, for example, it may be an additional charge or it can not be done.
I have been pleased with 95 percent of what I purchase through them. There was a banner I was not too pleased about but overall I loved the Intros and logos the designer done for me. So try it out for $5.00!
Be Real
Your subscribers can tell if your faking the funk so be authentic in your videos. Do not try to be someone else or sell your soul for views or money.
Show your love and passion for what you are talking about through your video. When you are passionate and love what you are doing it will show through your delivery. I talked about this in my YouTuber Secrets post.
Let your true personality shine through! I do not show my face a lot in my videos. So it is very important that my personality shines through my delivery. When you are true to who you are people will be drawn to YOU. BE YOU and NO ONE ELSE!
Work With What You Have First
Work with the equipment you have currently and then eventually upgrade. Do not go out spending tons of money on editing software, lighting, camera equipment and etc. if you are not sure if this is something you truly what to invest in.
I first started with my Samsung Galaxy phone then my husband purchased a camera for my birthday for around $125 Canon Powershot SX400IS (now discontinued) but I love this camera and it got me through many of videos on YouTube. I think this year I will finally upgrade but am going to wait until Black Friday to do so.
It was not until this year I finally purchased light boxes and I really like them! I struggled with lightning for years so I may not have wanted so long to purchase those light boxes but they are worth every penny now.
My Equipment:
Blue Snowball iCE Condenser Microphone
HP Laptop QuadCore (QuadCore processors renders videos faster)
iPhone 6 Plus (take a lot of pictures on, cannot wait to upgrade)
Editing software (Use the one that comes with your laptop and upgrade later. Currently Using PowerDirector, I used Windows Movie Maker for years and had no choice but to upgrade when I needed a new laptop)
Learn Something New
Always continue to learn something about your channel. Try to set a goal to learn something new every week or month. If you have the time, set out to learn something every day.
Learn about how your camera works, new apps you can use on your phone for your channel, how to improve your channel, the usage of your editing software and etc. It is always something to learn and grow upon in this forever growing online world so do not be afraid to set the bar high for yourself and keep learning.
Network and Support
Support other creators by watching, commenting and following them on their social media platforms. They will support you back in return 80% of the time.
Which is great! When no one else may show up to support you besides your immediate family, your YouTube family will have your back. And that is a great feeling!! Trust Me!
Find A Mentor
Finding a mentor or someone that inspires you on your YouTube journey. This is helpful when you are feeling discouraged or simply burnt out to keep going and you want to keep striving to move forward. Finding someone that gives you a push to keep going and moving forward goes a long way on your YouTube journey.
Your Mentor or Inspirer may change as you grow and evolve as a creator and that is okay. Just keep growing, evolving and moving!
Brainstorm Video Ideas
Take some time out of your day or week and just have a brain dump. When my head gets full of ideas and a long list of to-dos, I have to have a dumping session. I like to do this somewhere in my planner on note paper so that I can reference back to it later.
Also, ask your subscribers what they would love to see on your channel is a great starting point or when you are in a slump. You can do this by asking them to leave a comment (below your video) and through posting a poll/comments on the YouTube Community page. Also on Facebook or Instagram post, I love that Instagram has a poll in their Instastories.
Do Not Let YouTube Run You
When I first started my channel that is what exactly happened to me. I was trying to keep up with everyone else or let’s say in my head. I felt frustrated, anxious like I was spinning and I could not keep up!
I had to realize I had three little people and a husband that depended on me. I also had other responsibilities. I could not forget about those things in the process.
For me, the seasons seem to fly by faster (trying to keep up) and my kids were growing up quickly and I did not want to miss out on their lives. That is when I realized that my children will not be children forever. When they are older and grown I will have more time to put towards my channel.
When I put things into perspective it all became easier for me! No pressure! No anxiousness!
Do Not Sweat It
Do not worry about the thumbs ups or downs. This is a feature I feel like YouTube should do away with. A good rule of thumb for me is for about every 10 views if you have 1 thumbs up that means my viewers like or enjoyed it. For example, 200 views I should or like to see 20 likes. If I see more that lets me know they really enjoyed the video or something about it. 500 views with 62 likes that is a good gage for me.
Nevertheless, do not get caught up in the thumbs down. It does not define you as a person and the world is not going to end because of it. Do not sweat the small stuff!
Invest In Yourself
Take a course that will help you improve as a YouTuber. It could be materials or videos on how to grow your channel, edit videos, public speaking, improving social media, makeup tutorials (for face to face), how to film, branding, affiliate marketing or etc.
If you want your channel to grow it is important to learn how to make improvements throughout your journey. Investing in yourself could be FREE (tons of information online) or you could pay for E-books or courses online.
I recently invested in a bundle of courses that were for blogging. It really sold me when I saw that it had one course in the bundle for YouTube. I learned a lot from the course. It is called Conquer YouTube.
I would highly suggest if you are interested in this course to take advantage of sales (sign up for emails to get notifications if she has them). I purchase the Genius Bloggers Toolkit that is only available a few times out the year.
So my purchase price was $97 for a boatload of information. And I am loving all of the new things that I am learning in the bundle. It is not just for blogging but if you have an online presence or would like to have business as well as online, this bundle could be helpful (next sales date is in October).
You Are Great!
Do not let larger YouTubers liking, following, commenting and subscribing determine the worth of your work, channel or video.
They are people just like you are! They started from zero. They just may have had more exposure than you. I see so many talented people that their audience just hasn’t found them yet.
I once told another YouTube Sister that: No one’s life is more fabulous than your own’s! Theirs just emphasizing it through the lens.
Music and editing make a world of difference in its delivery. I had some pretty boring videos until they were edited. #FACTS and everyone else did too.
Starting a YouTube channel is the easy part! Growing, Learning, and Staying Motivated can be the Tricky part. I know that once you show your PASSION and Personality shine through film that everything will follow. The SKY IS CERTAINLY THE LIMIT FOR YOU!
Get going and pull out the camera today!
