1. Be sure to keep the receipt. The customer receives their final receipt within their email.
2. Bring your car phone charger with you.
3. Remember to bring a quarter for your Aldi grocery trips.
4. Be sure to check the notes section in the Instacart app for special notes.
5. Always bring insulated bags with you to keep food cold or hot, Amazon has some at a great price and they are durable.
6. Invest in a little wagon or hand truck depending on the area. Hand trucks are helpful for apartment deliveries.
7. Always try to ask the customer for a replacement and the replacement options list in the shoppers’ app. This helps improves your customer service for the customer and keeps the customer from going back to the store themselves.
8. Park near the cart corral. You will thank yourself later!
9. Breathe….when feeling overwhelmed. Stop and take a deep breathe! You got this!!
10. If you have two orders, separate them by using the handbasket in the shopping cart and underneath to help separate the orders.
11. Always keep hand sanitizer in your car. Use it often!!
12. In the hot months, try using old water bottles as ice packs to keep food cold during the super hot days.
13. Try to shop with only your Instacart debit card, phone, and car keys. It makes your trips a lot easier! I normally use an I.D. holder that has a zip compartment (to hold my quarter for the Aldi shopping cart), the Instacart debit card and my driver’s license (in case I am carded or need it).
14. Carrying a power bank is a lifesaver for those days you may forget to charge your phone or you are just super busy and do not have time to charge it. So charging while working is a huge help!
15. Check over the order before you accept it…if that matters to you! Check the distance to their home from the store, distance to the grocery store, if it is a heavy load, the time it is due, how many items in the order and the amount it pays. The distance is the most important for me.
16. If the order is On-Demand, learn to have quick fingers. Learn to scan the order details really quickly and accept it if you a interested.
17. Ask an associate if you can not find something! Try not to bug everyone in the store every single time but if you are wasting time looking for something just ask.
18. Enjoy it! Remember no matter how big or small the order may be, you are helping someone out in a big way.
19. Call or Chat with Shopper Support if you have any questions.
20. Join Instacart Facebook groups. If your area has a local group join that group as well. Local groups are really helpful!
