Work At Home Job Leads That Work
I have been wanting to share you all some of the different ways I have made money from home over the years as a SAHM on my channel. So today is that day and am going share on my blog today! YAY!!
Majority of my marriage I have stayed home with my children and was not able to bring in any income at times. Although there were many times I found some sort of way to bring something to the table.
Of course, working inside the home is a job all by itself! You never have anytime off! That is an entire another story, but let’s begin!
The Main Leader!
My favorite place to check on the regular for job leads is on a site called Ratracerebellion. Love this site! I have gotten so many jobs from this website it is crazy!
I know you saying, Hope, that many jobs!!
Well, let’s say you must be a special person to love customer service/call center jobs (which are the ones I mainly applied to due to my past experience). Although they have all types of jobs on their website.
Some of the companies I have worked with are:
- American Airlines
- Active Network (making National and State camping reservations)
- ProFlowers (seasonal)
- Teleflowers
- Comcast
- ACD Direct
They are really good at weeding out the jobs that are scams. Giving out alerts if there any that may have slipped by them.
Never send money or give out information to any company. Make sure to verify if they are legit!
I have never been scammed, thankfully! I always verified the source through the original website. Just do a simple Google search. Type in whatever the company’s name is and put Fraud or Scam at the end of it and read what comes up.
If its something that was due to that personal situation, like for example they did not submit their timesheet on time, did not log in to work or they were a No Call No Show?!? That pretty much was on their part for whatever the personal situation may be! Placing blame on the company for the reason they got fired or not paid does not constitute for listing them for fraud or scam on the web.
This site lists jobs such as H and R Block, Uhaul, Hilton, Amazon, HSN, American Express and more.
Make sure to pay attention to the job requirements when applying.
Some may require:
- High-Speed Internet and Landline phone (I upgraded plenty of times)
- Paying for your own background check (make sure it is legit)
- Fingerprinted from a local Police department
- Certain required equipment, for example, a headset (Some will provide the equipment for you, Love those companies!)
- To live in certain states and/or a certain radius from the main office
- No laptops and/or have to be hard wired to the modem
Come back and check daily Monday-Friday for new job postings.
Mystery shopping
Mystery shopping is one of my favorite ones to make money from home! Especially when I would shop at a local grocery store called Harris Teeter. I was a huge couponer so I was very familiar with their store and enjoyed it. There are a lot of other companies out there just make sure that they are legit.
Normally I found those companies to sign up for mystery shopping through Ratracerebellion.com because I knew they were verified. I have never done this, but I believe there are certain levels to the Mystery shopping and you can pay for that testing and more assignments will be sent to you or you are able to see more shopping assignments. I never dug that deep, but I did think about it a few times.
Selling for Consignment Sales/At Consignment Shops
This is a great way to take your children’s gently used clothing items, bedding, toys, books, shoes, room décor, baby gear and sale it.
I have done the Consignment shops/stores since my oldest was a baby to get money back. This is a great way to purchase new clothing for them for the upcoming season without having to come out of pocket.
New clothing still with the tags or name brands tend to give you more bang for your buck.
I have never been able to take advantage of selling at the big Consignment Sales (normally these sales happen 2-3 times a year, usually seasonal). I do good just to keep track of when the next sale is coming around! LOL!
Although I have thought about it so many times! Just hearing other parents making some quick cash from it, is motivating. If you become a seller you must read and go by the guidelines. Such as hanging the clothing a certain way, labeling, tagging it, which looks easy to do! Give it a try!
eBay
I heard about a lot of people were making a living off of eBay for years now, so I thought maybe I could too?
Shoot my husband and I both thought about it! Even purchasing the Dummies book for it!
Well let’s just say we never did anything with it…..then one day I was watching MomtheEbayer on Youtube and thought about all of my designer purses that were just collecting dust in my closet.
So I started an eBay account, taking great pictures and writing really good details of the purses. Buyers want to know the dimensions, all the details and if there are any imperfections upfront.
From eBay, I made about $650.00 from 5 purses. Not too bad!
eBay you can sell many different things, so try it out!
(FYI to get your money faster make sure to have a PayPal Debit card….I think it called a Cash Card now. It is a prepaid card so make sure not to apply for the PayPal credit card by mistake…. if there is one. I think it is.)
YouTube
I am sure you have some sort of passion or talent! Everyone does!
Or maybe you just have a love for the camera then YouTube may be for you!
Although I do suggest not to start a channel for the sole purpose of making money. You should be passionate about what you are sharing because it could be months or maybe years before you see income coming in from your channel…..especially on a regular basis.
It took me a one year and a half to make a consistent income from YouTube. Once I started to pay my tithes off what I made with YouTube that is when I started to see consistency. I am so thankful for that!
It is a great way to contribute to your household or supplement your income. You get to be yourself and have your family around and meet wonderful new friends.
I know recently YouTube changed some things as far as monetization and you may have to research that, but if you willing to start it is worth it.
Surveys
Surveys are another way to make a little income. It does take some patience to build up points or money depending on how it works. One of my favorites that I did work with is Pinecone Research. They would pay about $3.00 normally but some were a little more.
I wished I kept this one up because it added up quickly and the payouts rolled around fast. If you do not keep up with them they will stop sending emails for survey invites. I started working a new job and my time was limited to get them in by the deadline. Now when I apply they do not need any more applicants in my demographic which is a bummer, but maybe one day! The checks were small but they added up to be gas money, lunch money or if you’re a couponer it went a long way to shop with.
Swagbucks is another great one. I heard of a blogger mentioned she saves her gift cards from them and use them when they travel. What a great idea!
You can add a widget to your desktop or the app. The easiest thing to do with them only takes seconds to do every day is their daily poll question. You will be surprised how fast it adds up!
Check out YouTube channels for job leads
I have been following this one channel called Workers on Board for a couple of years now and she always has the up to date jobs leads or ways to earn money from home. Full-time, part-time, surveys, App gigs, mystery shops and more. You name it she has you covered!
Also, ThriftingThickChick has videos on her channel and on her other channel: Legitimate Work at Home jobs working from home. I like her job leads because they all do not require to be on the phone with customers.
The positions go fast! Once you apply with the companies and an opening becomes available and you see an email from them, go to their site. Make sure to apply quickly!
Direct Sales
There are companies such as Avon, MaryKay, Pampered Chef, Scentsy, Tupperware, and Thirty-One just to name a few are great ways to make money from home.
They are flexible and work around your family’s schedule. I have been an Avon rep twice and it was fun! The name Avon sales itself! Most of the time you just pass out the book and instantly you have customers.
One of my favorites that went out of business when the recession hit was Home & Interiors and Gifts. I love them! Talking about wishing and dreaming of home decor for days on end!! I miss them so much.
Try one of those options as well!
I have thought about being a Pampered Chef or Thirty-One representative myself (but I have so much going on as of right now). I love cooking gadgets, cooking and any type of bag!
All these ideas are just suggestions to help supplement or bring in some type of income for your household. Although they were not my forever’s, they very well may be yours. Or just your temporaries to get you to the next chapter or season in your life.
I am grateful for all those opportunities looking back because it provided growth for something in the future. Most of all I could share them with you today! Please let me know if you have any questions and I will be happy to answer them.
Working in my own home, making my own hours has always been my jam! It very well may be yours too!
